A Christmas Gift for Rhianna from troop 330!

Thank you troop 330 for helping make Rhianna's Christmas something special! :)

I will be dropping the gift off at the girl scout house today. I need to pick up the Taylor Swift CD that she wanted to add to her gift. Thanks again ladies -- it really is a great feeling knowing that you helped in a special way!! Please show your girls what they got for Rhianna and explain that because of them, Rhianna will be able to open presents on Christmas day!

Tuesday, December 16...

Will be our next meeting: 6pm at the Girl Scout House! Plan to come, have cupcakes and make a Christmas tree ornament for a gift or to keep yourself!

****We will also have a book exchange**** Please bring a wrapped book for the girls to exchange with each other.

We will also have the cookie booth sign up sheet available. If your daughter is selling cookies, each Daisy will participate in one 2 hour shift (minimum). Thanks so much!!!

CPR Training

The Nutcracker - Reserved seating $25 (groups of 10+ $20.00 each) Dec 19th 7:30 pm or

Children's Museum Gingerbread Event - Saturday, Dec 6 -11-4pm or Sunday, Dec 7 12-4pm
$16 admission, one cookie to decorate with candy and icing, and 1 SACM patch.
$20 admission, one house to decorate with candy and icing and 1 SACM patch.

Annual Christmas craft Fair - 10-12pm, items will cost between .50 and $5.00 - all items will be purchased using pre purchased tickets. Ticket sales begin at 9:40 am. Come early and enjoy a special sing a long and decorate your own shopping bag between 9:30-9:50am.

Girl Scout tshirt order - adult and youth sizes are $7. you may choose red or blue. Money will be due on December 2nd if you are interested. Don't forget to bring your money. These tshirts are not a mandatory part of the girl scout daisy uniform.

December 16th is our last meeting for December. Would you like to make this our Christmas party? Does anyone want to host this or should we keep it at the Girl Scout house? Open to all ideas and suggestions!

Rhianna - is our 15 yo that our Daisy troop 330 adopted. On her list is the Taylor Swift CD and science fiction books. If you are interested, please bring an item to help Rhianna celebrate a happy Christmas this year!! You may also donate money to be put towards the items that Rhianna would like. This is not a mandatory activity, but part of giving back to our community.

Cookies Rock!

Sorry for the late notice...but there will be a Cookies Rock get together for the girl scouts on Nov. 15 from 2-5 pm. Cost is $3 per girl and includes a snack and a patch. Learn how to properly set up cookie booths,Learn proper booth manners through role playing,Set your own troop and personal goals,Learn what the cookies are and how they taste,Learn cookies sales safety through skits. See your email for location. Please let me know ASAP if you can come! Registration is due tomorrow and I need to have your name! Thanks, I plan to have Logan attend.

Craft Night - next meeting

Because the next meeting will fall on November 4 and some girls may miss the meeting due to voting and staying on top of the election news coverage we are going to make tomorrow nights meeting, craft night (and we will work on our first badge project at our next meeting)! The girls are going to make cards for the troops as well as an excellent program called Make a Child Smile which is an organization where you send cards to kids with terminal or life threatening illnesses. This is something so small that we can do to lift a child up during an especially hard time, or put a smile on a soldiers face. I am so excited about both of these projects and hope you will spread the excitement to your girl as we let them know how blessed we are to live in a free country; where we are able to walk the streets without fear, speak our minds and go on with daily life. Also, I want the girls to learn how truly blessed they are to be able to go to school everyday without the complications of life threatening diseases keeping them inside and away from friends. Making cards for both of these groups will let the girls know that this is a small thing we can do to make someone else's day brighter. Because we cared!

We will also vote on numerous activities that our troop can participate in. I would love for the girls to be able to make the decision without input from us, the adults and hope that you will encourage the projects that the girls vote for (even if they may be time consuming for you as the parents.) :) Thank you so much again for signing up your girls for this wonderful endeavor and trusting Susan and I to be the leaders that encourage, embrace and strengthen your girls to be and do their very best for themself and others. I really do feel blessed to have had the opportunity to take on a role like this and be able to positively influence our young girls. Thanks again and we will see you tomorrow evening at 6pm at the girl scout house! Bring those creative juices with you. We will not be serving dinner tomorrow night, so please remember to have your child eat before they come. Thanks again! Also, remember to bring your girl scout promise craft that you started at home.

What a great first meeting we had! The girls seemed to really have a great time and that is what this journey is really all about! Thank you to all the moms for pitching in with the arts and craft collection and the first aid kit! We are ready to roll and start in on earning our very first badge next month! Once the uniforms are ordered and delivered, the girls are really going to feel part of a very special group! Thanks again moms for signing up your girls! This is a great thing that we are doing for our daughters! :)

Next Meeting: November 4th (vote early:) 6pm
Homework: cut out and decorate the girl scout oath and glue it to the foam mount! Please have the daisies remember to bring them to our next meeting!!

Also, a reminder to bring your $5 fee to our next meeting and your checkbook if you have not already paid for your uniform or you still need to pay registration fees!

Meeting Reminder...

Just a quick reminder that our next meeting will be tomorrow at 6pm. We will be celebrating Juliette Low's birthday with pizza, cupcakes and ice cream, so don't forget to bring a wrapped gift for either our art box or first aid kit, the item you signed up for dessert/drink/paper products, etc and a hungry tummy! We can't wait to see the girls again and meet those who weren't able to make our last meeting! {Meeting Reminders...}

Just a few reminders from the last meeting:

1. Our next meeting will be held October 28th at 6pm at Lisa & Logan's house. It will be a bday party for Juliette Low (Girl Scout founder). Each child should bring a wrapped gift either for the art bin or the first aid kit. We will play a fun game with these gifts.

2. Also...please bring the snack item that you signed up for: Cupcakes - Hannah, Ice Cream - Emily, Drinks - Peylei, Utensils - Elysha. {You do not have to eat dinner before you come as we will be having pizza!}

3. Don't forget the Fall Fun Fair Fundraiser at the Girl Scout House on Saturday, October 18th! Bring the whole family and come out and support the Girl Scouts!

4. Monthly dues will be $5 per month to go towards supply fees and field trips that we take with our troop.

5. Uniforms/pins, patches and work books will be ordered and handed out at our next meeting. Prices will vary depending on whether you get the apron or the sash (I will update the price here soon).

7. If you wish to volunteer with any other aspect of the troop, please let us know! ;)

Susan and I are so excited to be starting this troop and thank you all for your support of us, especially since we are both still learning! Welcome to Troop #330

Our first Girl Scouts meeting was a great success!! What wonderful girls we have in our troop and I'm so excited to watch them grow up together through the Girl Scouts.
We'll be using this blog to put up information regarding our troop, to share photos and videos of some of our activities, and to keep a running journal of our journey together with the Girl Scouts.
